The Portland Trailblazers aren’t getting much out of their rookies this year
21-year old point guard Armon Johnson has been the rookie that has gotten the most P.T. so far this year for the Blazers. Johnson has played in 27 games (0 starts) for the Blazers so far this year and he is averaging 8.2 minutes, 3.2 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.4 assists per game. Johnson has held his own so far but he just isn’t getting much P.T. yet for the Blazers. 21-year old small forward Luke Babbitt hasn’t gotten much P.T. yet this year but that’s partially because he has been awful. Babbitt has played in 13 games (0 starts) for the Blazers so far this year and he is averaging 5.2 minutes, 1.3 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.2 assists per game. Babbitt is only shooting 28% from the floor, 12.5% from three point range and 28.6% from the free throw line so far this year. I don’t see Babbitt getting on the floor much unless the Blazers are blowing someone out or getting drilled themselves. Rookie guard Elliot Williams is out for the season due to injury. He got hurt before the season started.
