Greg Oden is out for the season for the Portland Trailblazers

24-year old center Greg Oden is out for the season for the second year in the row as he needed microfracture surgery to his left knee for the second time in his career. Oden was the #1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, over Kevin Durant. He last played in the 2009-10 season for the Blazers. He has played in 82 games (60 starts) in his NBA career so far and he is averaging 22.1 minutes, 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. I’m not so sure that the Trailblazers are going to keep signing Oden, as they have been wasting money the last couple years. Taking Oden over Durant is going to go down in history as a move just as bad as when the Blazers took Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan.
