The Blazers shot 51.9% from the floor and they outrebounded them 50-30, which explains the ease of victory in this game. Wesley Matthews (25 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal), Raymond Felton (23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists) and Jamal Crawford (22 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Trailblazers in this game. Gerald Wallace (13 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot) and LaMarcus Aldridge (13 points, 6 rebounds and 1 blocked shot) also pitched in for the Blazers last night. The Trailblazers are now 3-0 on the year.

The Blazers held the Kings to 37.8% shooting from the floor and they outscored them 55-33 in the second half of the game to pull away from the Kings last Tuesday Night in Portland. Gerald Wallace (25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocked shots) and LaMarcus Aldridge (24 points, 8 rebounds and 1 steal) led the way for the Blazers in this game. Nicolas Batum only shot 4 of 12 from the floor as he finished up with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist. The Trailblazers are now 2-0 on the year.

The Trailblazers held off a pesky 76ers team last Monday Night in Portland. LaMarcus Aldridge (25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots) and Gerald Wallace (21 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals) led the way for the Blazers in this game. Wesley Matthews also had a solid game with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot also had a solid game for the Blazers. Jamal Crawford (12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals), Raymond Felton (12 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 steal) and Nicolas Batum (10 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist in 21 minutes) also pitched in for the Blazers last night. The Blazers are 1-0 on the year.

The Portland Trailblazers waive Earl Barron

The Trailblazers have waived 30-year old center Earl Barron. Barron played in 2 games (1 start) for the Trailblazers last year and he averaged 18.5 minutes, 3.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He has now played in 110 games (28 starts) in his career with the Blazers and he is averaging 15.2 minutes, 5.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Barron got caught in a numbers game in Portland, but he shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a new job for 2011-12.

The Portland Trailblazers sign Craig Smith

The Trailblazers have signed 28-year old power forward Craig Smith. Smith played in 48 games (0 starts) for the Clippers last year and he averaged 12.2 minutes, 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game last year. He has now played in 356 games (49 starts) in his first five years in the NBA and he is averaging 17.9 minutes, 8.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. This was a smart signing for the Blazers as they needed a backup for LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward.
