The Portland Trailblazers have not played the rookies much this season

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 7 January 2010 at 2:15 pm

The Blazers have been rolling with the veterans so far this season. Forward Dante Cunningham has gotten the most playing time of the rookies so far this year. He has played in 23 games (1 start) for the Blazers this season and he is averaging 10.0 minutes, 3.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. With the recent injury to LaMarcus Aldridge the Blazers have been starting to give some minutes to Jeff Pendergraph who is showing that he can handle the job. He has played in 8 games (2 starts) for the Trailblazers so far this season and he is averaging 18.5 minutes, 4.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game on 64% shooting from the floor. Look for his playing time to continue to increase as long as he keeps playuing well. Point guard Patrick Mills has only played in 1 game for the Blazers working 5 scoreless minutes with 2 assists. Don’t expect much out of him as he is #4 on the Blazers’ depth chart at the point.

The Portland Trailblazers need more from Martell Webster

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 5 January 2010 at 1:10 am

The Trailblazers need more from starting small forward Martell Webster due to the rash of injuries the team is suffering from right now. Webster has played in 35 games (26 starts) this season for the Blazers and he is averaging 9.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. They also need him to start shooting better as he is only hitting 38.5% from the floor this season. The Blazers really need Webster to step up and play to his ability.
