The Blazers raced out to a 25-15 lead in the first quarter last night but they couldn’t maintain that pace and part of the reason was because they were outrebounded 46-36. Brandon Roy has been outstanding to start the year for the Portland Trailblazers

Because Brandon Roy plays on the West Coast a lot of fans don’t get to see him play. That is a shame because I’ve been saying for a while now that he is the D-Wade of the West. Roy has played in 4 games (all starts) for the Trailblazers this season and he is averaging 37.5 minutes, 27.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. If Roy were more selfish he could probably average 30+ points per game but he’s not as he is a good team player.

Steve Blake led the way for the Blazers with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists last night. Brandon Roy only shot 5 of 17 from the floor as he finished up with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Greg Oden was tough around the basket finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes on the court. Travis Outlaw pitched in with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists last night. The Trailblazers are now 2-2 on the season with this win.
