The Blazers outrebounded the Warriors 45-37 last night but it didn’t matter as the undermanned Warriors took it to them. Rudy Fernandez filled up the stat sheet for the Blazers last night with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in 38 minutes off the bench. Brandon Roy only shot 6 of 17 from the floor last night but he still finished up with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Greg Oden was solid last night despite only playing 24 minutes as he scored 16 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. The Trailblazers are now 9-5 on the year.

Portland Trailblazers 87, Detroit Pistons 81

The Blazers jumped out to a 70-50 lead after three quarters but then they had to hold on as the Pistons woke up late in the game. The Blazers played great on defense as usual holding the Pistons to 38.8% shooting from the floor last night. Brandon Roy led the way for the Blazers last night with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. LaMarcus Aldridge also had a very solid night with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Steve Blake pitched in with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists last night. The Trailblazers are now 9-4 on the year.

Atlanta Hawks 99, Portland Trailblazers 95 in OT

The Blazers had this game under control until the 4th quarter when the Hawks outscored them 27-18 to send the game into O.T. Rudy Fernandez led the way for the Blazers last night with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. LaMarcus Aldridge (18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists) and Brandon Roy (17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists) also had good games for the Blazers last night. The Trailblazers are now 8-4 on the season.

The Portland Trailblazers don’t have much playing time for rookies

The Trailblazers want to win a NBA title this season so they won’t likely have much time for rookies this year. 22-year old forward Dante Cunningham has played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Trailblazers so far this season and he is averaging 2.0 points per game. Cunningham is the only rookie to have played in a game for the Blazers so far this season. 21-year old point guard Patrick Mills and 22-year old power forward Jeff Pendergraph will likely be watching a lot of games from the bench this season.

The Trailblazers have lost small forward Travis Outlaw for the next 6-8 weeks due to a stress fracture in his left foot. Outlaw has played in 11 games (0 starts) for the Blazers so far this season and he is averaging 21.0 minutes, 9.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Rudy Fernandez and Martell Webster will likely pick up the slack while Outlaw is out of action. Rudy Fernandez has played in 11 games (0 starts) for the Blazers so far this season and he is averaging 20.9 minutes, 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Webster has played in 11 games (5 starts) for the Trailblazers this season and he is averaging 21.4 minutes, 7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Look for Fernandez and Webster to play well while Outlaw is out of action.
