The Trailblazers select Josh McRoberts in the 2nd round

Blogged under The Draft Report, Bloglockers, Big Blazers News, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 29 June 2007 at 8:31 am

The Blazers drafted Josh McRoberts in the 2nd round of the draft with the 37th overall pick.  McRoberts is a big guy at 6′10″, 240 pounds and he played at Duke so he’s probably a smart guy.  He will likely back up LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward this season for the Blazers.  At Duke, McRoberts played in 69 games and he averaged 10.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.9 blocked shots per game.  McRoberts made 54% of his shots from the floor, 27.8% of his three-pointers and 66.4% of his free throws.  He was another solid pick by the Blazers.

It will be interesting to see how McRoberts does in the NBA. While expecting him to be Carlos Boozer looks like it’s a reach, he should be able to help the Blazers off of the bench as a rookie.

the nba is about to see how exciting Josh McRoberts really is. There is so much potential there, once he puts it together he’s gonna be a very special player and an unbeleivable teammate
