Zach Randolph had his best season of his NBA career for the Portland Trailblazers

Even the Trailblazers couldn’t have expected Zach Randolph to step up his game the way he did last season.  In 68 games, Randolph averaged 35.7 points, 23.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.  Randolph’s shooting percentages also were pretty good last season as he shot 46.7% from the floor, 29.2% from three point range and 81.9% from the free throw line.  The Blazers hope he can repeat his stat line next season.

Zach Randolph’s career numbers spiked across the board with his fine year.  In 387 games in his NBA career, Randolph has averaged 16.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.  Randolph’s shooting percentages have all risen too.  He has hit 46.6% from the floor, 26.1% from three-point range and 77.5% from the free throw line.

Brandon Roy of the Portland Trailblazers wins the NBA Rookie of the Year

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Blazers News, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 3 May 2007 at 1:13 pm

Brandon Roy only played in 57 games in his rookie year and still won the Rookie of the Year Award for the 2006-2007 season.  Roy received all but one first place vote (Toronto’s Andrea Bargnani got the stray vote).  Watch how good Roy will be next season as I project him to get a big spike in his scoring average because of a lot more free throw attempts.  Look for Roy to take the ball to the basket a lot more next season ala Dwyane Wade.
