The Trailblazers get nipped 103-102 by the Grizzlies in Portland

It’s really hard to believe that the Trailblazers lost a game in which they shot 50% from the floor and outrebounded the Grizzlies 42-32….but they did.  Zach Randolph led the way for the Blazers with 25 points and 7 rebounds.  Brandon Roy was very good last night too with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.  Jarrett Jack also had a decent game with 18 points and 3 assists.

The Blazers trade Juan Dixon to the Raptors for guard Fred Jones

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 22 February 2007 at 3:44 pm

Despite having similar stats the Blazers brought in Fred Jones.  Dixon was mainly just a shooter, but Jones has pretty good all around skills.  Jones has played in 39 games this season and he has averaged 7.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.  For his career, Jones has played in 284 games and has averaged 7.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.  He’s more physical than Dixon is and that’s what the Blazers need.

The Blazers shot an amazing 59.7% from the floor as a team and that’s why they won last night.  Jarrett Jack led the way for the Blazers with 30 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists.  Zach Randolph had a solid game with 22 points and 9 rebounds.  LeMarcus Aldridge had a solid game off of the bench with 18 points.

The Trailblazers nip the Jazz 103-100 in Portland

The young Blazers were too much last night for the Deron Williams-less Utah Jazz.  Brandon Roy did his best Dwyane Wade impersonation with 27 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists.  Zach Randolph had a great game in the paint with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals.  Ime Udoka also had a solid game with 15 points.

The Trailblazers improved to 23-32 on the season with this victory.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270220022
