Trailblazers get smoked in Portland 109-93 by the Nuggets

Blogged under Game recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 15 January 2007 at 10:12 am

The Blazers got outscored 72-36 in the first & third quarters and that did them in last night.  The reason for that was the pathetic play of the starting unit that only scored 20 points!  The bench scored 73 points in this game!  Rookie Sergio Rodriguez had a great game off the bench with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals.  Juan Dixon was also solid off the bench with 15 points.

The Trailblazers fell to 15-24 on the season with this loss.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270114022

The Trailblazers get thumped 99-74 by the Mavericks in Dallas

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 11 January 2007 at 12:06 pm

The Trailblazers played no offense as they only shot 39.4% from the floor and they didn’t play any defense as the Mavericks hit 51.5% of their shots and that’s why they got blown out.  Zach Randolph led the way with 21 points and 5 rebounds.  Brandon Roy also had a decent game with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.  Rookie LeMarcus Aldridge had a solid game too with 14 points and 6 rebounds.

The Blazers fell to 14-23 on the season with this loss.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270110006

Young Blazers playing better

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 8:04 pm

The Trailblazers are sitting at 14-21 on the season and are 10.5 games out in the Northwest Division of the Pacific Conference but Nate McMillan has his team way ahead of schedule.  The Blazers have had problems on offense as they’re only averaging 92.8 points per game and have been held under 100 points 27 times this season.  The return of rookie Brandon Roy should help out with the scoring problem.  Roy is averaging 14.0 points per game and has taken alot of pressure off of Zach Randolph.  Zach Randolph has been flat out awesome this season.  He’s averaging 24.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game which is alot more than the Blazers expected.  Jarrett Jack also has played well in his first season as a starter as he’s averaged 12.7 points and 5.7 assists per game.  Look for the Blazers to get better as the year goes on as the young kids get some valuable experience.  The Blazers will be a team to reckon with in the near future, but not this season.
