Young Blazers playing better

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 8:04 pm

The Trailblazers are sitting at 14-21 on the season and are 10.5 games out in the Northwest Division of the Pacific Conference but Nate McMillan has his team way ahead of schedule.  The Blazers have had problems on offense as they’re only averaging 92.8 points per game and have been held under 100 points 27 times this season.  The return of rookie Brandon Roy should help out with the scoring problem.  Roy is averaging 14.0 points per game and has taken alot of pressure off of Zach Randolph.  Zach Randolph has been flat out awesome this season.  He’s averaging 24.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game which is alot more than the Blazers expected.  Jarrett Jack also has played well in his first season as a starter as he’s averaged 12.7 points and 5.7 assists per game.  Look for the Blazers to get better as the year goes on as the young kids get some valuable experience.  The Blazers will be a team to reckon with in the near future, but not this season.
