Blazers clipped by LA 102-89

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 7 November 2006 at 5:01 pm

The Blazers just didn’t have the firepower to deal with the Clippers last night.  Zach Randolph had an incredible game with 35 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots!  Jarrett Jack had another good game with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Surprise starter Ime Udoka turned in a solid game with 11 points & 10 rebounds.

The Blazers are getting tougher even though they are still young.

Power Forwards

Zach Randolph had a good season last year averaging 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.  Randolph is a tough match-up for alot of teams because he’s got a soft left-handed jumper that’s hard to defend.  Randolph has career averages of 14.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Raef LaFrentz gives the Blazers great depth at the PF position.  LaFrentz has a great skill set, as he is a great shooter (37% 3 pointers for his career) that also blocks shots (1.8 per game over career).  LaFrentz has averaged 11.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for his career.

The Trailblazers defended the home court with a big victory over the T-Wolves.  Zach Randolph had a decent game with 17 points and 7 rebounds.  Rookie Brandon Roy had a rough time shooting, but still scored 16 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 8 assists.  The bench is the real reason why the Blazers won this basketball game.  Martell Webster continued his blistering shooting, hitting 4 of 5 from three point range and finishing with 16 points.  Travis Outlaw was a monster in this game with 18 points and 15 rebounds.  Juan Dixon chipped in with 10 points.

If your a Blazer fan, you have to be real happy with the start this young team is off to.

Power forward Zach Randolph was dominant on Wednesday night as he poured in 30 points and snatched 10 rebounds.  Rookie Brandon Roy looked great scoring 20 points in his NBA debut.  PG Jarrett Jack looked good running the team, scoring 13 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists.  Juan Dixon was instant offense off of the bench, scoring 18 points in only 23 minutes of play.

The Trailblazers shot a remarkable 54.8% as a team.  This was a big, confidence building win for the young Blazers.
